These are the five TV shows that we are going to talk about in this segment...

Where to watch: HBO GO or Hotstar

Silicon Valley
Silicon Valley

This may not be for all but those who are interested in technical stuff and dramedy will love it. Caught between the big tech giants, can a group of programmers make a billion dollar idea a reality?

The main reason the show is so great is that the problems and the solutions to them are shown in a very realistic way. From the title card to story arcs in each season there is so much innovativeness. The constant updating of the show to the latest technology also provides a laugh or two. With the real problems and relatable characters, the stories are even better than other running sitcoms.

“ Look, guys, for thousands of years, guys like us have gotten the shit kicked out of us. But now, for the first time, we're living in an era, where we can be in charge and build empires. We could be the Vikings of our day”

Where to watch: Netflix

BoJack Horseman
BoJack Horseman

BoJack Horseman is one of the perfect shows that everybody loves. The story is the life of an aging TV star who was once famous and his close acquaintances.

It touches some serious subjects like alcoholism, substance addiction, etc in a way that it doesn't make you cringe but laugh. This is the only show that would make you laugh and cry in just under 30 mins. They achieved a tremendous feat when they got a 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes for 2 seasons. The show’s brilliant writing can be witnessed in the fact that it is so relatable to each and every one. The arsenal of amazing voice actors makes the show even better.

“ I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast!”

Where to watch: Netflix

Office UK
Office UK

Many would have heard about the Office(US) but I think that for starters Wernham Hogg would be the ideal destination. It follows the lives of ordinary office going people and their attention seeking boss.

This is the one which started many of such mockumentary style dramas. This workplace comedy extending just 12 episodes and a Christmas special focus on being a comical one rather than being an emotional one. With a performer like Ricky Gervais as the lead, it will be one hilarious ride for the first timers so don’t wait to board the bus to Wernham Hogg.

“ Some of you seem to have got off on the wrong foot with me. You didn't like some of the jokes I told earlier. You've got to chill out, yeah, trust me, this is what I do, all right? You will never work in a place like this again. This is brilliant. Fact. And you will never have another boss like me. Someone who's basically a chilled out entertainer”

Where to watch: Netflix

Sherlock
Sherlock

This modern adaption of Sherlock Holmes starts off with Watson looking for a roommate while trying to overcome his traumatic war experiences.

The creators here managed to create some extraordinary antagonists with some being the best in this category. As it just has three fast-paced feature-length episodes per season it will be easy for many to start with. Stylish filmmaking combined with the characters so well written it makes us invest in the characters from the get-go. The main beauties of this series are that it will make the people guessing till the very end and a good explanation to everything(except for one!!!). The bromance between the lead characters is also a notable one.

“Every fairy tale needs a good old-fashioned villain. You need me or you’re nothing—because we’re just like, you and I. Except you’re boring. You’re on the side of the angels.”

Where to watch: Netflix

Stranger Things
Stranger Things

The pacing and performance in this series are impeccable. The story starts off with a mysterious girl appearing while the whole town is searching for a missing boy.

The Duffer brothers rekindle 1980s nostalgia in this Spielberg-esque fantasy. The main advantage of this show is that it is suitable for audiences of every generation. It is one of those that is talked more so finish this to join your friends to form theories for the third season.

“Friends don't lie”

So I think these 11 shows are some of the best to start spending your time with. See you next time. Cheers...
