Review Bytes [S01E76]: AP Bio [S04]

The classes have started in the fourth season. This was one of my favorite shows the last couple of years so I was really excited for this season. Did this season lived up to your expectations, comment below...

The energetic cast, a bunch of new concept episodes were present as always in the newest season of AP Bio. The lovable old characters and the new entrants all have played their roles to perfection. It should be said that the actors who are playing, students are excelling year over year.

The dialogue writing should be really appreciated. The dialogues were pinpoint for each of the characters and it will make those die-hard fans happy.

In spite of these, the season had a problem of generating comedic moments at a regular interval. This can be attributed to the fact that the main characters lacked their combination scenes which may be due to pandemic restrictions or scheduling conflicts. But this affected the show in at least a small way. Jack and Durbin didn't get many scenes together. The same goes for Jack and Helen; Jack and the trio of teachers. I hope that the exit of Lynette (Elizabeth Alderfer) is not due to her conflicting schedules and I would love to see her in future seasons. The core combinations were good but it felt monotonous at times as they were not mixed properly with other combination scenes like in the last two seasons. I thought that Bruce Campbell's Mister Mr. Griffin would get more than one episode.

Even with this flaw, the show excelled in other areas like depicting the character growth of Jack; the new concept episodes; and the heartfelt storytelling.

They had the perfect season finale, which might even serve as a good series finale in case the show is not renewed for a new season. Love to see this set of characters in the future seasons. Fingers crossed to hear the good (renewal) news soon.

Season Rating: B+

Bottom Line: Though the season has some flaws, it excels in character development and heartfelt storytelling
