After 7 months the Superstore returns as the essentials...
I wanted to wait till the exit of America Ferrera because I wanted to know how the two-part season premiere is gonna pan out before reviewing.
The first episode moved the story over the first few months of the global pandemic. Their way of dealing with Covid was much better than This is Us. Here, we know and can relate to the characters more naturally. They are portrayed as the "heroes" in the episode too.
The first few months were shown in a good light-hearted manner. The way panic shopping was going on and physically wrestling for toilet papers were used in the best comedic way. They also touched on a few important points like showing us how difficult it was not knowing how to protect oneself during the earlier months.
After 100 very hearty fun-filled episodes, we got to lose one of our favorite TV Amy's. Everyone would have known how the last episode for Amy would play out. Though expected, it was sad to see the end of a very beautiful relation with Superstore. Don't sweat it over the way Amy's character arc played out. Maybe she might be the one who took their relation to the next step at each level but she needed her space. As Ben Feldman is going to continue on with the show, we got to see the break up(at least on-screen). The move might have been rushed but it was sweet and hearty as usual.
Little Things:
Glenn's understanding over the powerpoint was nice
Somehow Cheyenne's fireworks found its way
NBC has a huge obsession with Hank's positive result (two days in a row ...)
Episodes Rating: A-
