Let us begin the Life Day celebrations with the release of a new Lego Star Wars Special on Disney+.
The film starts precisely a few months after the end of "The Rise of Skywalker". This way it serves as an epilogue to the latest movie. The core group of characters is on the planet of Kashyyyk to celebrate Life Day, where Rey is training Finn to become a Jedi. Rey feels that she is not fully capable of training so she goes to Kordoku in search of the answers. That is where she finds the key to the galaxy's past. Rey while using the key travels through space and time to some of the important moments in Star Wars history.
The positives in the movie are much more than the negatives. The moments are clearly planned out and they cleverly use them. The self-referential humor and their way of mocking some of their own flaws were very good. The humor was spread evenly and it was suitably used. This film is a treat for all the die-hard fans out there. Also for those who have watched the movies can pick up the references and they will too have a hearty laugh once or twice for sure.
The idea of an epilogue to TROS was good in my opinion as we got to see some important character arcs for these characters. We got to see that Finn is force sensitive, Poe and Zori are in love, and finally, the universe can rely on Rey as she will be a good trainer. These are things which I liked the most about this film.
The only nitpick is that they could have stayed a little longer in some of the memorable moments like where we got to see Yoda training Luke. But this is not at all a major issue as we got to see more moments.
Movie Rating: A
Little Things:
Hello there said by the generations of Kenobi and the sorta argument between Han(s) to determine who should fire first were top notch
The narration by Yoda was a good touch as well
