On seeing the news that there is going to be a Parks and Recreation Special I was so excited. Very much indeed. Being a Michael Schur fan I was a little too excited. Even though I was excited there was a bit of fear regarding the timeline as they wrote themselves into the corner by showing us the future in the last episode. But they proved themselves once more by giving a very "special" episode that made use of the actors and their surroundings to their fullest. Starting with Bobby Newport, they surprised us a lot with every G meetings they had. Surprisingly every plot point of Ann staying in the Southwest portion, Andy stuck in the shed, and Leslie starting various new committees didn't seem stretched, as it all remained true their characters. The notes in the Perd Hapley show saying that the virus can't be karate chopped and the Garry's(not Jerry) worry about angry people who are all opposing the Annual Pawnee Popsicle Lick 'N Pass are some hearty laugh out moments reminding of the classic episodes. They did a clever move of using Megan Mullally's Tammy 2 character. The moment the whole cast joined the video call and the subsequent singing of Goodbye Lil' Sebastian was properly handled making us reminiscing about the good 'ol days. Who wouldn't want a Ron pep talk to beat all the "coronas"?
