Review Bytes [S02E03]: Ted Lasso [S01E10]

The first season came to a very predictable end after two months but it was good...

Many like me would have doubted when the show was announced. My fear was that will this promising cast and crew will be wasted on extending a character from a short video clip done for promoting Premier League in the US. But boy was I wrong and I am glad I was wrong as we got to see one of the most heartfelt shows of this year. It may not be fresh in the age of peak TV but it sure did win the hearts with its heartwarming scenes.

And in its season finale, they went with what worked for them the whole season. Instead of concentrating on the all-important match, they went with the emotional side of the players before and after.

The story of Roy Kent's age from last week took the center stage in this episode too. I am afraid this could be the last time we see him in this show. They turned a really monotonous character into a complex character. For the first few episodes, he seemed like a one-note character, he seems a little bit the same in the last episodes as well but he at least had a good character growth.

Every character had organic growth throughout the season albeit a small one. The characters which really impressed me where Keeley and Rebecca. Especially Keeley's character had good and strong support for the story considering her character not being the main character.

The issue for me personally is that they showed us only a few matches and that too not fully. It might not be their weakest link but it sure isn't their strongest suit.

The production design was top notch throughout the season same as every other AppleTV+ content. Hoping for a second soon...
