This break of three weeks seemed more than the mid-season one. Maybe it is because we got to see only one episode after the break. When an episode of this show has this kinda premise it is easy to deceive the fans, and how perfectly it is done is the question. Let us find out...

In its shortest cold-open, we are let to know that there is some accident and Kevin might be involved in it. As this is the Kevin-centric Big Three episode our whole focus is on the actor/quarterback Pearson. The main plot is Kevin trying to reach the hospital on time from Vancouver. We have two flashbacks one involving young Jack which runs parallelly to the other involving young Kevin. Both involves sports and parenting. This lets them to show how good a parent Jack is.

The emotional quotient matters in the telling as we all know that Jack is a good parent. Here even though they took their own time they perfectly landed at the end. Jack explaining that Rugby is not Kevin's only future and him confronting the coach stands out as the most heartwarming scenes of the episode. The story of Jack attending his softball league games paid off nicely to support Jack's claims.

The main plot involving the 40-year-old Kevin didn't seem as efficient as the other sub-plots. This can allude to the fact that one can easily sense the plot turn miles ahead. That said Kevin trying to save a person in this situation shows improves the character development.

Episode Rating: B

Little Things:

  • Beth and Randall's phone call to Madison was a very good touch

  • How excited are you to see the newest Pearsons in the coming episodes?

  • Till now the character growth of Kevin is the most fascinating one among the big three to me. Do you differ, comment below...
