As the show is coming to a close in only a few episodes the question arises whether the show is taking the right path to close all the character arcs. Are they been doing it well, let us see in the review...
The plots in this episode are that Glenn thinks that Zephra is involved in some kind of mind-controlling conspiracy, Cheyenne and Mateo's beef still continues but no one cares, and Jonah is having a problem with Garrett as he forgets their first big fight.
First up let's just say that these plots are in no way concluding the show. Yeah and that's the case with this kinda show right. We saw some part of the Cloud Nine employees' life in the last six years. They may continue to work in the store even long after the show's ending. So I think that Superstore doesn't need a perfect finale to cap off the six years of storytelling. Except for Amy none of the characters improved work-wise in the past six years. This may or may not be the case for all of them but that shouldn't bother the finale as I said above the show doesn't need a perfect finale to be the perfect show.
Coming to this episode the plots moved at a better pace with a handful of good laughs. The misunderstanding between Garrett and Jonah provided a laugh or two as did the remaining plots. They are not the best but as a whole, it seemed better. The real deal of the show came exactly one minute before the end when Glenn says that he is going to quit. That came as a shocker and it really seemed probable as the series comes to an end. But thankfully Garrett and Jonah convinced him not to resign.
So that's it folks for this week's breakdown of the Superstore episode. The last set of episodes will continuously air after a week's break in between, so see you in the next review in about two weeks.
Episode Rating: B+
Little Things:
Right there on truthwarriors1.biz, the leading scientists claim that the earth is flat was one of the funniest lines from this week's episode
Garrett's maybe a white lie to Jonah seems pretty harsh considering that Jonah is at the receiving end of most of the jokes this season
