One of the best sitcoms of the last decade came to a wonderful end yesterday. So let us get into the review one last time...
The episodes were a little short of laughs but had full of heart-warming moments. They had two episodes to complete the arcs and they did their absolute best in those. Be it the Simmosa reunion, or every last of those moments like - Garrett announcing on the mic, Amy's last name tag, and Cheyenne cleaning the vomit or showing every characters' future.
A Superstore fan account on Instagram mentioned that the crew heard the news of cancellation with only five episodes left to shoot. For concluding the show from that stage the writers have to be seriously applauded to not make any character sacrifice to finish the show on a high note. The finale's high-risk point was the Simmosa reunion, which could have turned out to be a disaster if not for the perfect setup. The scene preceding that and the exchanges between the pair laid out the perfect platform.
The show's finale was so grounded. It did what it always does showing the lives of the working-class perfectly. The extras who say that they depend on the store unlike the others was always the heartbeat of the show. Zephra's decision of shutting down the retail stores didn't seem off as it reflects the real world.
Showing us the future arcs of these beloved characters in the closing minutes was a nice touch. I couldn't say that the Sturgis and Sons store would be profitable, but Glenn could spend some time with his friends, and above all that Mateo need not work for Carol. Amy being an executive is a normal continuation of her character. But Jonah running for the City Council is the perfect extension of his character. But who knew that the Cloud 9's 1217 lot would also be getting the perfect arc. The store turning from a retail store to some other establishment like the fulfillment center is its above said perfect arc. Dina and Garrett's arc and Dina being the manager of the fulfillment center too were good.
I started watching the show exactly one year ago when the pandemic started. I was looking for a pleasant sitcom and I stumbled upon this incredible show. I started liking the show from the finale of season one and started loving it as the seasons went on. Their way of showing the world of daily wagers in a respectable and at the same time funny way possible attracted me the most. They didn't stop at that, they always wanted to explore other issues which have to be applauded. The real winning moment is that the move of exploring those issues was properly handled. It hasn't got quite the reach as of now, but I sure hope that changes as the concepts handled in the show are as timely as ever.

I was covering the Superstore episodes weekly from the last season's final episode and it was always fun to write about this incredible show and its lovable characters
All the Instagram stories and the posts by the cast and the crew is really nice to see
Not sure if I want to see Bo and Cheyenne spin-off just yet. I always loved those characters but I think this end is the perfect end for the show. Who knows that show could also bring the same magic like this one. Let's wait and see
So that's it bye-bye for now. Check out our other reviews and posts, see you soon with other interesting posts.
