I should now be tired of saying how brilliant an episode is in each review but I am not just because each one is so so amazing. With this said let us get into the breakdown.
It is Deborah Junior's birthday turned surprise wedding in the seventh episode. The eighth one revolves around the leads revisiting the problematic old days and the people with whom Deborah acquainted during that time. All this happens when the pair tries their new standup set.
We have the answer for why doesn't DJ not using her time to complete her GED because she has gone to Cornell. Man, that is the funniest line in these two episodes. DJ's wedding seemed to happen so soon but yeah that's what her character is as far as they have shown us thus far. Like her, the other supporting characters too got their share of screen time this week. Marcus's relationship starts to grow in a meaningful way with the "water police", Kiki, and even Kayla got a huge break to shine.
They have nicely built up the bonding of the leads which makes it perfect for the all important eighth episode. Ava's question is so her character as is Deborah's reply. Both are equally right in their perspective which we can feel thanks to the writing team's effort of building up their characters nicely.
The whole standup bit in the eighth episode is so brilliant and funny.
Episodes Rating: A+
Little Things:
So only one week left to watch the finale of this brilliant season and I hope this nice streak continues
